Emotion & Cognition
In the Fujiwara lab, we study relationships between emotion and cognition in humans. We focus on pathological conditions with effects on the central nervous system, but we also have ongoing studies in the general population. Our methods include cognitive and neuropsychological assessments, online and in-person surveys, eye movement analyses, and we love to play with our data using conventional and more advanced statistical techniques like machine learning.
Currently, a primary focus of research in our lab is the intersection between cognition and emotional health in persons living with HIV. We are committed to advancing our understanding of how living with HIV impacts central nervous system functions including cognitive processes, emotional responses, and overall quality of life, striving to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals affected by this complex condition.
